The Windows subsystem for Android first launched earlier this year, and it lets you access many of the same Android apps right on your Windows 11 PC, albeit with some spec requirements.
In a new blog post, Microsoft outlines the future of the Windows subsystem for Android,
starting with a new update available to Windows Insiders subscribing to the Dev channel.
The main feature of this update is that Windows 11 will now use Android 12.1 to run your apps,
but this will come with some consequences as some apps may not be compatible.
The update is only available to testers at the moment, as Microsoft is seeking feedback before Android 12.1 launches on more Windows 11 PCs. If you feel brave enough to test the pre-release program,
you can sign up for the Windows Insider Program and try the update on your device private.
