HOW TO CREATE A GROUP ON SNAPCHAT?
- Start by opening the app.
- Then swipe right to access the chats or tap the chat icon at the bottom of the app. Find your contacts page and suggestions for plugins.
- Click on the add new chat icon that looks like a chat bubble and a stylus at the bottom right of the screen and click on “New Group“.
- The app offers you to either choose from the suggested recent contacts or type the names of the people you want to add to the group. Thus you can choose up to 100 friends.
- Click on “Group Chat” to create a group chat.
- You can give a name to the group by clicking on “Group Name”.

Once you create your group, all the selected people will receive your messages. To see who has read it, saved it, and more, just long click on the chat.
Do messages sent in groups automatically delete themselves?
Yes, messages in group chats are deleted after 24 hours. You can also change the settings for your messages so that they are deleted immediately after they are viewed or 24 hours after they are sent.
How do you add a new member to a Snapchat chat group?
To manage multiple chat members, go to the chats list by swiping the screen to the right or by clicking on the chat icon at the bottom of the app. Long press on the relevant group chat and on the window that appears, click on “More”. You then have two options:
You can click on “Add members to the group”, in which case the application will offer you the possibility to choose the members from among your friends.
You can also click on “Invite via link”. The app will send you a link that you can share via other messaging apps like WhatsApp.
Please note that you cannot remove a person from the group. You will have to leave alone.
What happens if the group is inactive?
Collections expire after 24 hours without adding a snap. Thus, if no message is posted during this period, the group will be automatically deleted.
How to leave the group?
To join a group chat, you cannot request an add-on. There are only two ways to join a group chat: someone has to add you, or you create one yourself. However, you can leave the group very easily. To do this, go to your chats list by swiping the screen from left to right and long tapping on the respective group chat. Then a window appears. Click ‘More’, then leave the group. Confirm by pressing ‘Exit’.
