Close Friends on Twitter, which is similar to Instagram, is now available to all users as Twitter Circle,
a new feature that was only made available to a small group of users at the beginning of this month.
The Twitter Circle feature,
if you’ve never used it, allows you to select a group of people with whom you want to share Tweets.
What this does is allow users to share specific tweets with a specific group of people instead of sharing them to the entire Twitter community.
It’s been about a month since Twitter began testing the feature and has now chosen to make it available to more people around the world.
Once you open Twitter on your computer or mobile phone,
you will receive a popup alerting you that you have been selected.
Steps to activate the Twitter Circle feature
- To post a tweet, open Twitter and tap the Tweet button.
- Right below your profile picture, you will notice a new “Everyone” option that you can choose from. Select “Everyone” from the dropdown menu.
- To send a Tweet to a specific group of people, select ‘Twitter Circle’. To add people to your Twitter circle for the first time, tap Edit, then Confirm.
- Now is the time to compose and send your tweets as usual.
Tweets that are shared with people in your Twitter circle will appear with a green flag next to them to remind you.
