Meta is rolling out a new update for Messenger on Android. after it’s been a few years since Messenger is no longer a simple instant messaging app, the latter allowing (among other things) to make voice and video calls.
The new update that’s rolling out focuses precisely on these same calls, with a new tab dedicated to Android.
Thus, the new tab (named “Calls” in the English version) is available for Android users. It allows you to go back to your previous call history and start a new audio/video call easily.
Display mode couldn’t be simpler, with a logo to the right of the contact, a screen very similar to what’s already in the Calls app for Android.
Once the update is rolled out to as many people as possible,
it will be much easier to make an actual phone call (or video call) with your contacts. Obviously, Meta aims to (re) highlight the possibilities that Messenger offers in terms of calling.
