Reports have indicated that Microsoft will make several big announcements ahead of the Summer Games Festival on June 9.
One of the biggest announcements is that Microsoft will launch a new service that appears to compete with the time-limited PlayStation Plus releases announced earlier this year.
According to the same sources, the feature will be available to Xbox Game Pass members over the next year and will start focusing on helping independent game developers around the world.
Not only will developers who choose to sign up for the project get the necessary data needed to develop the game,
but Microsoft will also compensate the developers for participation (exact details have not been disclosed).
In addition to this announcement, Microsoft will also announce an extension of its partnership with Samsung,
which will allow people to stream Xbox games on their Samsung Smart TVs without a console via Cloud Gaming.
There will also be several smaller announcements, including extending cloud gaming to other countries to make the service more accessible.
It’s expected that the announcements will be made several hours prior to the Summer Game Fest show on June 9th.
More recently, Xbox Game Pass has been the heyday of subscription-based digital services and still dominates the western market.
Microsoft expect to expand its horizons further with the expansion into cloud games and the acquisition of Activision Blizzard,
which will expire by the summer of 2023.
In addition,
Microsoft plans to increase its revenue-generating capabilities through the alleged plan
to add in-game ads to its free games.
