
While TikTok recently surpassed 1 billion users, Google just announced that the alternative to YouTube Short has reached 1.5 billion users. Thus, the confrontation between the two systems is still far from over.
More than 1.5 billion users are watching YouTube Shorts on YouTube every month, which has made Google’s platform rise to the level of its main competitor in this field.
YouTube Shorts allows recording videos of up to 60 seconds. It was launched in beta in September 2020 and became widely available in July. YouTube, which decided to invest in the field of short videos, allocated a $100 million portfolio to YouTube Shorts producers.
